"The Two Door Cinema Club? Who knows them?" This response from my best friend deeply hurt me... I think this Northern Irish band is one of the most positive surprises of recent years. After the EP "Four Words To Stand On" (which includes some tracks from this album), the Two Door Cinema Club wanted to do things big. This album is indeed full of hits for teenagers. Yes, real hits for teenagers, not like Justin Bieber. Thought-out and well-structured hits that give their best for a party you already know will last all night. One of the best is the opening track "Cigarettes In The Theatre" which has a chorus that gets stuck in your head and... never goes away. "Come Back Home" is another very high-level song. Alas... here’s something that isn’t really up to par: "Do You Want It All?", too repetitive for my tastes, but still acceptable. Of "This Is The Life", I love the part after the second chorus, an idea that would be revisited differently in the next album with "Someday". "Something Good Can Work" – I don’t have much to say, not much thought into it but it turned out brilliantly. "I Can Talk" falls under the teen hit category. This one too is exceptional. Another great idea came to Trimble and the gang with "Undercover Martyn", where the lyrics aren't the height of originality, but the music remains splendid. And then my favorite, "What You Know", which mixes dance and indie in an impeccable way. The ninth track on this album, "Eat That Up, It's Good For You", isn’t really bad, but it has the misfortune of paving the way for the only track that doesn’t particularly convince me, "You're Not Stubborn". Well, the judgment remains very positive nonetheless.

If you’re interested, I can also write the review of TDCC’s second album or something about Foster The People, if there isn’t already...

If you stumble upon them by chance... you can certainly be pleasantly surprised by their light and danceable pop rock.

Probably... Tourist History will succumb to the test of time, because in the long run, there’s little substance.
