The Profile

Twink (John Charles Edward Alder) is an English drummer and singer central to the UK psychedelic scene, known for work with Tomorrow, The Pretty Things (including S.F. Sorrow), and The Deviants. His 1970 solo debut Think Pink is a cult cornerstone, and he co-founded the Pink Fairies soon after.

English psychedelic drummer/singer; solo debut Think Pink (1970); collaborated with Steve Peregrin Took, Mick Farren, members of The Pretty Things and Tomorrow; co-founded Pink Fairies; active from the 1960s onward.

Two DeBaser reviews celebrate Twink’s Think Pink as a pivotal, lysergic milestone pivoting the 60s into the 70s. They highlight its dark-tinged psychedelia, tribal trips, and free-form eruptions, with standout cuts like 10,000 Words In A Cardboard Box. Collaborations with figures from The Deviants, The Pretty Things, Tomorrow, and Steve Peregrin Took are underlined. Verdict: a cult, must-have cornerstone for psychedelic collections.
