A controversial group of politically incorrect Norwegians, also known for their image, staging various gimmicks (the homosexual/cross-dresser one is the most famous).
Jokes aside, the most interesting fact is the genre they propose, defined by them as "Deathpunk", whose roots are based on Punk Rock, Heavy Metal, and Glam Rock.
"Hot Cars And Spent Contraceptives", being the debut, nevertheless offers a taste of what will indeed be the proposed genre, still relying on the Noise Rock that distinguished them in the very early years.
The album generally presents tracks of dark, raw, sharp Punk Rock, with dizzying bursts of Hardcore Punk. Prodigiously rusty, with a rough production, surpassable only by the raw and corrosive sounds of the Black Metal unleashed by Ulver in the gloomy "Nattens Madrigal". Norway is Norway, my friends.
A voice that continuously screams and creaks; very simple yet decidedly effective musical technique. Sarcastic lyrics, often centered on sexual themes.
"Librium Love" is the opener with a monologue strongly centered on the sexual background of a young girl, setting the stage for the oxidizing guitars; "Vaya Con Satan" presents itself with a Punk with Black Metal reminiscences, even vocally; the dirty feedback of the 10 minutes of "Prima Moffe"; the pressing fury of "Manimal"; the metallic sounds of "New Wave Song", with a riff reminiscent of "N.W.O." by Ministry; the robotic Sludge-like of "Nadsat Come Easy"... all factors that contribute to making the album colorful in its coherence, never boring.
