Turbonegro is a Norwegian rock band, formed in Oslo in 1989, known for coining or popularizing the term "deathpunk" and for a provocative, theatrical image.

Publicly verifiable facts: formed in Oslo in 1989; style described as deathpunk combining punk, hardcore and glam/hard rock influences; known for provocative stage imagery (including a homosexual/cross-dressing gimmick). Reviews on DeBaser reference vocalist Hank (Hank von Helvete) and guitarist Euroboy as notable figures in the band's sound.

Collected reviews on DeBaser praise Turbonegro's provocative deathpunk fusion of punk, hardcore and glam. Ass Cobra is frequently hailed as a milestone. Later records like Retox show a shift toward a broader hard-rock sound while retaining punk energy.

Turbonegro... a name, a program. A racist name with an anti-racist message.

Turbonegro is a very serious band in not taking themselves seriously, and if you’re not scared by the homosexual image they proudly flaunt, the absolutely obscene lyrics devoid of any moral, combined with an original punk sound that rehashes hackneyed clichés, then dive onto the next copy of this immense gem (the cover is also a parody/homage of the much more famous "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys) and put on your full denim outfit, hoping the deathpunk paladins will return to Italy to delight us live as well.

Ultimately, with their latest work, the band from Oslo does not disappoint too much.
