THE REVIEW

From the shell of Time, the desires of the coming year already peck, but on ritual tripods, fragrant exotic scents burn, spreading the vapors of distant shadows.

Delicate and sinuous Ambient music guided by slender Levantine harmonies that slowly fade into the air between sweetish hints of myrrh and incense.

On topaz lozenges that encrust Chinese pagodas, piercing dissonances ignite sharp aquamarine reflections while fluid percussions cadence Dragon Dances that advance in a misshapen drizzle of electronic crystals.

A dawn monstrance introduces the monumental title-track. Like breadcrumbs, the andante of a pinpoint sequencer traces hidden paths within us while an ethereal underlying electronic drone envelops the dream that gradually dissolves into ancestral exhalations and jingles of small bells, only to regain solidity in a tense final crescendo.

A cinematic mysticism in which Steve Roach's spirituality is rewritten in mysterious ideograms.

Western dynamism and Eastern stasis fused into enigmatic diadems where images of the Past and the Future flash and intertwine endlessly.
