I light up

With immensity.

G. Ungaretti

------

It is necessary, at this point, to explain the reason for such a review: after yet another listening to the masterpiece in question (finished at 2:30 a.m.), slightly tired, I went to bed. I slept little and during my sleep, I dreamed of the extraordinary world of Tommy. A rock album so great, immense, unrepeatable, a "signature album" that despite its 40 years would be a masterpiece even if released today, so fresh and rich in ideas and immortal melodies.
With these thoughts crowding my mind, after a few hours of sleep around 7:00 a.m., I got out of bed, headed to my computer, and tried to use the fewest words possible to describe a work that is still felt necessary today.
Ungaretti's words seemed most suitable to express my state of mind, refreshed by the guitars of Townshend, the main mind of the group and of this mammoth album that embodies a certain trend in rock.

Tommy is the first Rock Opera in history that managed to set a new role for young music.

Townshend was able to demonstrate his genius to critics and colleagues, becoming a champion of the exceptional progress achieved by pop music up to that point.
