The Underground Youth

Musical Group

An English band formed in 2008, The Underground Youth blend post-punk, shoegaze and psychedelic influences across a lo-fi, melancholic sound.

Reviews note the band's tendency to pair songs with film clips on YouTube and describe prominent albums including Delirium and Mademoiselle; Craig Dyer is mentioned as the group's singer in reviews.

Two enthusiastic DeBaser reviews praise The Underground Youth's melancholic, psychedelic sound. Delirium is described as distorted and emotionally powerful; Mademoiselle is noted for sweet, dark atmospheres. Both reviews highlight nostalgic, filmic associations.

For:Fans of post-punk, shoegaze, neo-psychedelia and melancholic indie music.

This album is very important to me, emotionally, and perhaps this slightly biases my review, because I associate every lyric with a moment in my life, I can empathize with every lyric of this album, and for me anyone who can do that will be destroyed because it brings out unimaginable things in you.

This underground youth is either loved or hated, certainly, they may not be merry partiers, but dark atmospheres have always fascinated me.
