Ok. I admit that the Dead Elephant already drove me crazy.

But here guys it seems that (potentially) we're looking at a version 2.0 of that thing.

I say potentially because three tracks (including a cover) are a bit too few to get a precise idea, but these three pieces have an incredible ferocity and energy.

It starts with "The Regret Song". Nervous drums and a guitar that welcomes you by planting a stripped and rusty riff straight in your eyes. Second by second, the tension increases until it throws you headlong into a crescendo that leaves you breathless. The ending instead is a distillation of paranoia, heavy and granitic, in which all the tension accumulated in the track dissolves. A gem.

"Blame me" (cover of Unsane) is instead reduced to a noise pulp. In my opinion, decidedly better than the original. If I were Chris Spencer, I'd be really proud. But it's a cover so I won't dwell on it.

The main course comes at the end and is called "The Light That Feiled" and is probably the best track of the work. The rhythm section here is impressive because it crushes anything it finds in front. The track has a furious pace but this time more indebted to post-hc metal. Decidedly more furious and mathematical while maintaining a primal rage that harks back to hardcore. But it is the final opening that literally blows my mind. The arpeggio at the end of the track could have been conceived by Kurt Balou on acid. Powerful yet piercing at the same time. I find it difficult at this moment to find the right words. What remains is a tail of synths that, together with the layers of noise, fades into emptiness. The fact remains that if these are the first tracks we have the chance to hear, it's worth keeping an eye on them. They're two but sound like a legion of demons, and in terms of heavy music, I don't think I've ever heard anything like this, especially since they're not from New York but from Turin. For me, definitely above average. Recommended without hesitation.
