THE REVIEW

What do you think, in my opinion it's a bit inferior to the previous one!

Yes, in this work Julian Casablanca has outdone himself with the lyrics, but even if the record spins enjoyably, unfortunately it seems the dances have stopped. There is no longer a "The Modern Age" or a "Barely Legal" and indeed there are quite a few gaps.

That crazy and fizzy style is still there but rock'n roll is missing! Apart from the first two tracks ("What Ever Happened?" and "Reptilia") that scream miracle, I noticed a certain regression. Too much melody! And in the end, you get tired of it. How beautiful that old atmosphere was, speaking of sex, drugs, and rock'n roll... it makes me miss "Is This It" a little. Now though, it gets ordinary with girlfriends and flings!

The best are: "What Ever Happened?", "Reptilia", "12:51", "Under Control", and "The End Has No End", but for the rest, you're left disappointed unless you're fans.

Always genuine and enjoyable but flat and a bit predictable.

(I proposed these reviews because the others seem a bit misleading... it's certainly not an album worthy of a 5, not even a 4).

Summary by Bot

The review sees Room On Fire as a somewhat inferior follow-up to The Strokes' debut. While Julian Casablancas' lyrics impress, the record lacks the vibrant rock'n'roll energy and memorable danceable tracks of their first release. Standout songs include 'What Ever Happened?' and 'Reptilia'. Though enjoyable and genuine, the album may feel predictable and less exciting for casual listeners.

In this album, it is really Casablancas' voice that expresses itself fully, hoarse and deep, sharp and angry, melancholic and dreamy.

So what’s changed? Simple, the Strokes! They have matured, both musically and lyrically.

I just can’t stand The Strokes, no use denying it, so I want to say this album is bad without having listened to it!

It turns out it confirms exactly what I thought: I can’t stand these Strokes!! LONG LIVE PREJUDICE

The track no. 2, Reptilia, is perhaps the best piece written by these shady New Yorkers.

We are far from the glories of 'Is This It', but we stay afloat, which in this period is not bad at all.
