THE REVIEW

Softie: a person easily stirred to sentiment or tender emotion.

Jen (Sbragia) and Rose (Melberg, already in Tiger Trap) are two girls from Sacramento, who, even from their name, seem to have a clear idea of what their musical imprint should be.

More twee pop than indie pop, with the English blessing of Sarah Records, even though it was released in 1995 by Calvin Johnson's K Records.

From the cover, it feels like you're in Stars Hollow, but discogs says it was recorded in the midst of a Californian summer, even if the atmosphere suggests otherwise.

Fourteen little songs, including a cover by spiritual fathers Talulah Gosh, that don't differ from one another, drawing soft and melancholic melodies.

Fourteen brief diary pages written in a short time, but never in a rush.

Two electric guitars, that sound acoustic, and two voices that create naïve harmonies, mindful of the artistic legacy of the Marine Girls. An essential lo-fi, which needs nothing more: less is less.
