The Dear Hunter is a music project led by Casey Crescenzo, known for ambitious concept albums (the Acts series) and the nine-EP The Color Spectrum.

Led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Casey Crescenzo. The project includes a planned series of six concept albums (the Acts) and the 2011 release The Color Spectrum, a set of nine EPs each themed on a color. Crescenzo was previously associated with The Receiving End of Sirens (publicly verifiable).

Two DeBaser reviews praise Casey Crescenzo's songwriting, multi-instrumental arrangements and ambitious concept work. The Color Spectrum (nine EPs) and Act II are highlighted for scope and melodic strength. Reviewers recommend listening to albums in full to appreciate orchestration and voice.

For:Listeners who enjoy progressive/art/alternative rock, large-scale concept albums and orchestral-arranged rock.

There are about 145 minutes of music that I currently can't do without, because beyond the already mentioned complexity, the magic of these songs lies in the performance quality, in Crescenzo's extremely powerful yet poignant voice, and in the melodies that are never banal and absolutely engaging.

Help me, because there's something I don't understand about this brand new concept album coming from Boston: how is it possible to fall in love with a work composed of 15 tracks for over 1h15' of music, already on the first listen?
