See the chains which bind the men
Can you taste their lonely arrogance
It's always too late

Heard for the first time on the radio in 1982, Radio Massarosa Sound during the evening show of my friend Fabrizio: I was immediately captivated! Twelve-string guitars with a compact, powerful sound that knocks you down with a single riff. The class act of this track is the solo with the classical guitar! A piece that charges you up like a spring! The “chiesa australiana” opens its doors and calls its faithful......

On a day like this, a hundred lifetimes ago
You on a shore, across the point
I looked through my hands and you drew me a line

After Ploog's introduction (whom I admire as a drummer), a real battle breaks out with guitar riffs! Marty and Peter go at it tooth and nail, striking blows like masters of the six strings; at times it feels like falling down the stairs of the glorious altar of “neo-psychedelic,” a term that will resonate strongly in these years... epic!

It's a long way home from the Field of Mars
Distant, alone, beneath the platinum stars
And I turn to look, but I'm never any closer

You don't know if it's bells or guitars or maybe both together telling us that something is happening in the "Fields of Mars"....the bass presses, the guitars respond, shining like the stars above......then the solo starts, first calm and reassuring but then almost screaming.....tum tum tum... Ploog replies.....and in the end, reverberated sounds close this gem.

An Interlude (04:32)
"They're going to send you away" she said
Psychic angels spread on the top of her head
And in the compartments of my dread

After the album's release, this video started circulating on Videomusic, and I finally saw my heroes! In a forest among the shadows, an eclipse, a knight, a face, a voice... everything very mysterious, beautiful! The greatness of this piece is already evident from the long and unusual guitar intro, which then transforms into a beautiful solo by Peter Koppes... who has a touch and phrasing that's always very captivating... without words, the piece leaves you speechless because when it ends, you say... what the hell is this!!!?? But where do they come from, Mars!?

You Took (08:02)
You took a piece of my heart
You took a piece of my heart
And I don't know why
