I believe that any music enthusiast, regardless of the genre and the artist, should always be open to other genres and sounds they haven't explored yet...
This is my case because until about a year ago, I listened exclusively to metal, then I fell in love with the sacred monsters of rock, grunge, etc., etc....in short, I opened up...
And well, it had to happen that I fell in love precisely with what I once rejected?? The Chemical Brothers with the much-hated electronic music, sometimes dance, sometimes a bit rave, sometimes techno and psychedelic...the music that pill-poppers dance to in the so-called trendy clubs?????
The truth is that it's impossible to resist these two geniuses, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons... what is present in Come with us is a melting pot of emotions, rhythms, and sounds that get stuck in your head, hitting you with their aggressiveness and brazenness, in beautiful and pounding songs. My favorites from this album are the title track "Come with us", "The test", "Star guitar", and "It began in Afrika"... in the latter, the "Chemical Brothers" have even managed to insert ancestral tribal sounds... you might say, they don't fit at all... but they do fit indeed!! the result is amazing.. So after the 2 million copies of "Surrender" sold worldwide, this is an excellent follow-up, much better than the last "Push The Button".
In short... with what I wrote at the beginning of the review, I want you to understand that first of all, this album can really appeal to everyone, I recommend buying it (though better to download it); then I hope not to receive stupid comments as has happened before... because it's obvious that one might not like a band, a genre, an album... but to go from there to insulting just to act like jerks behind a screen, well...
BE HOME...THEY ARE COMING BACK...
Aside from the poor "It Began In Africa," the album is good.
It’s not love, but it’s a nice album. Get my drift?
The album is formally beautiful, impeccable, with deep bass entering on hi-hats, but there isn’t a single song that makes me want to dig into the pile of CDs and play it right away.
Respect, but nothing more than that.
A work crafted down to the finest details.
Join them and let yourself be carried away by the music that only they know how to create.
