THE BOWERS - Pieno mezzo vuoto (EP) Overdub Rec.

Stories of depression, unrequited loves, broken relationships that leave wounds in the soul. A strong critique of forced monogamy, seemingly happy couples (but it's often a façade of happiness). And then the report of a beating at a concert, a symptom of boredom, sloth, and a society that breeds anger. All this and more is encapsulated in The Bowers' debut album. With this tangle of not entirely positive themes, the result is a work that is a continual seesaw between moments of false calm before the storm, of tracks that slowly unwind between indie and funk only to explode into choruses with near nu-metal guitars that are a wonderful time-bomb.
