THE REVIEW

Fast, mean, angry, rotten.

The Accüsed are back in 2009 with this direct, overbearing, pretentious album.

The crossover between '80s Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk, mixed with the "Z-grade horror" atmosphere brought by Niemeyer's voice, the historic founder of the band (and the only one left from the combo that in distant '81 gave life to the brain-smasher Martha), remains in your head as one of the most violent experiences you could ever hear.

The extreme speed of execution of the tracks transforms them from music to hatchet blows behind the ears; the drum hits seem to mark a tempo suitable for an epileptic's dance, the guitars alternate between working as grinders and supersonic bullets. Meanwhile, the vocals weave plots worthy of being displayed in some abandoned drive-in. Stuff that would make hundreds of grindcore or metalcore bands blush with embarrassment.

After 28 years of activity, still splatter music. I don't know if that's good or bad (maturing certainly doesn't hurt), but regardless, you can't help but commend Niemeyer for his tenacity!
