LA RECENSIONE

And "Three"! And my review couldn't be anything else but this! Especially because yesterday I bought this vinyl practically new for 5 euros. Besides the satisfaction of this true, great deal, it was the listening experience that took me where no one else can reach. I have known the album since its release, and the memories I have are tied to some moments of my adolescence. Listening to it again through the lens of maturity and experience unveiled atmospheres and sounds I had never appreciated before. Those were the years when Pino, Teresa, and Enzo interpreted the music of the soul (soul, blues, and rhythm and blues) through their deep, dreamy culture, connected to the sea and everything that comes and goes through that sea. In the eighties, the three, and the musicians around them, seemed to be possessed by the sacred fire of boundless creativity, as if everything was led by and originated from them. "Three" is immersed in all this: it envelops with magic, warmth, and a zest for life. It is light, yet deep at the same time, intimate and melancholic for those moments of sought-after solitude. Teresa's voice is perfect in describing each of these movements, always with the right intonation to make you resonate inside. Magical too is the sound that Ernesto Vitolo, Gigi De Rienzo, Rosario Jermano, Mauro Spina paint with those colors that never smudge. They draw from the sea, from the alleys of Naples, but also from the early style of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays (Nannè) or from the registers of the Fender Rhodes of the west coast. In the Neapolitan and Italian production that we can define as "world music," even before this term was coined, "Three" is already its peak, the highest point, an absolute value. If you want to spend a perfect after-dinner and let your soul be gently caressed to go to bed with the serenity of someone who has made peace with the world, put this "Three" on the turntable because it will return you to the best of your tomorrows. Guaranteed!
