Talk Talk

The Party's Over Almotasim

"The Party's Over is a commercial new wave, new romantic album... a colorless, dull LP, out of focus, in the name of a conventional and uninspiring synth pop."

"In summary, we face an interim album, transient, entangled in the syrupy and fatty gloss of new romantic. Yet right here lies the origin of a band in continuous growth."

Discover Talk Talk's origins and hear the seeds of their later masterpiece evolution in The Party's Over.

You and The Party's Over

Talk Talk

Talk Talk were an English band formed in London in 1981 by Mark Hollis, Paul Webb and Lee Harris, with early keyboardist Simon Brenner and long‑time producer/co-writer Tim Friese‑Greene. They evolved from acclaimed 80s synth-pop to the influential, spacious soundscapes of Spirit of Eden (1988) and Laughing Stock (1991), before disbanding in the early 1990s.
