THE REVIEW

The parallel worlds that traverse our state of mind are varied and confused. Most of the time, we don't realize we've reached happiness, and when instead we reach unhappiness, we regret the past.
Melancholy pervades our behavior, forcing us into unwanted acts that dissipate in a liberating scream or perhaps in painting, singing, or venting with tears that fall softly on our lips, allowing us to taste their salty flavor.
With red eyes, we face bad moments, where your only objective is to get out of the illusory environment you've created as fast as possible, pretending under the guise of a smile or flaunting an intrinsic strength that we know very well we don't have. Yet we scream, we vent, until calm arrives, bringing back a serene state of mind.
The same thing happens with our audio perceptions while listening to Toxicity — not only a complete and well-made album but also very original.
The style of System is very complex and well-structured; it's a mix between a fierce and hard metal with distortions and heavy drums and harmonious, catatonic, and calm pop reprises. The resulting mix provokes a sense of immense satisfaction. Finally, we are faced not with the usual "wreck everything and angry voice" recipe, but finally, even in the realm of hard rock, we find calm and catchy riffs that shouldn't be underestimated.
The benevolent aspect of System doesn't lie so much in their musicality as in their originality, to which they owe their success. The songs are among the most varied, ranging from raw and heavy rock like "X" and "deer dance," almost a psychedelic chant that traps you in a web called "system rules." The musical journey continues with the evergreens "toxicity," "aerials," "ATWA," "chop suey!" where time, music, lyrics, and the atmosphere created are highlighted for their beauty.
Toxicity is certainly one of the most original albums of recent times regarding metal music, skillfully avoiding falling into the usual recipe of electric guitars, distortion, bass, and drums so dear to metalhead friends.

One of the few CDs, even if not strictly metal, that I can ingest without cursingly commenting...

Chop Suey! has a break down and an ending chorus that'll make you scream at the top of your lungs like you never have, EVER!

Every time you listen to it again, it’s like it’s the first time. And I guarantee the emotion is masterful!

If I were asked to describe the album Toxicity with one adjective, I would undoubtedly say "MASTERPIECE".

These guys are geniuses, because combining typical nu-metal sounds with sounds from their homeland (Armenia) is not a simple task.

The skill of Serj Tankian and company in composing songs is so immense that you would never stop listening to their tracks.

You must have "Toxicity", original or copied. And I guarantee that it will stay in your stereo or cd player for a long time.

Toxicity is an album that changed my life.

There’s nothing, I mean nothing, in this album that isn’t there for a specific reason.

In my opinion, as one of (if not the) best albums in the entire nu/heavy/alternative metal scene from the '90s onwards.

'Chop Suey!' the group's flagship, an extraordinary song that fits every ear thanks to its thousand facets.
