Xyz said that things should be done in a certain way or not at all! Well, I disagree; for the simple reason that there would be no form of evolution in things.The spirit of the nonconformist says we must go against all conventional rules, which conform us to society and make us slaves to it; go beyond the horizons, and do things in the most extravagant (if you will: original) way you know.
So why write a review that tells us exactly what we want to read, in the usual way we like things to be said? Fear of the new? Conservative spirit?
Well, "we don't give a fuck."
What is music? What is music made of?
Riffs? Drum rolls? Poetry? Naah... it's all a matter of emotions.
If you don't put your soul, body, spirit, and also (and above all)... the talent, a song will never be as perfect as you want it to be. "I need, I feel, a love, you love to love the fear, I never want to be alone, I've forgotten to. The road keeps moving clouds, the clouds become unreal, I guess I'll always be at home. Do you want me to try, directing your night."
I don't know if System are the best band of recent years, or simply the best nu-metal band (if we want to call them that) and I can't tell you that this is the greatest album of all time (as much as one can be a fan, we also need to be reasonable...), but I know they are one of the few bands that, reaching their "third album," still manage to move me. "I have a problem that I cannot explain, I have no reason why it should have been so plain, have no questions but I sure have excuse, I lack the reason why I should be so confused."
So, don't listen to those who say this album is made only of outtakes and therefore not worth listening to (I mean, if they themselves discarded them when deciding the track-list of previous albums, why should we believe they are "valid" songs???). Serj Tankian's voice cannot simply be called the voice of a singer; sometimes screamed, sometimes manic, sometimes sweet, it adds a touch of originality and uniqueness to the already splendid music signed by System Of A Down.
Anger, chaos, schizophrenia, poetry, politics, brutality, the anthems of the only truly nonconformist band, in soul, spirit, and body!

The album is not... a collection of rejects and useless songs released to make some money, but a compilation of songs not included in previous works simply because they didn’t fit with a cohesive sound.
An album that, in my opinion, will be greatly appreciated by the 'true' fans who listen to anything and everything from one of the most innovative bands in Metal history like System Of A Down.
