LA RECENSIONE

Somewhere in Wales in 1971...

And somewhere in Romagna in 2018...

_____________________________________________

Who do we put at the counter of the little psycho/garage bar under the house?

I don't know, what do you think about a random archetype of the dream woman? I, for example, could see the birdlike maiden or the type comedie...

And the shopkeeper? The owner? The boss?

Where do we choose him from and what type should he be? A street philosopher, a lover of the moment, a melancholic enthusiast? Or perhaps the crazy uncle that every family has? Well, let's make him a bit of all of these.

The essential thing is that he shouldn't have financial problems. The income shouldn't have to come from the bar, but from an activity like (I don't know?) selling esoteric 45 records via the internet...

The bar would only be his mission. What mission?

But what mission? To save us poor sinners who have no place and no home, isn't it?

_______________________________________________

Can you imagine, our melancholy suspended for a moment thanks to fresh and youthful rock, the kind that has the sound of the sixties.

And what matters is indeed the divine noise, beyond who produces it...

Ah, no rockstars, please. Our musicians will be humble workers in the Lord's vineyard.

Nothing more than a footnote in the ledger of excitement.

The first humble musicians I propose to you are these Sunshine Theatre, people of whom absolutely nothing is known, except what the tube says;

"Mod Psych from Wales"

"Punky beat, heavy psyc influences, and a stunning organ break that sounds more 66/67 than 1971"... And so be it...

My own take is that the track has an almost post-punk feel, beautiful harmonized vocals, and that organ break is indeed something that wakes the dead...

The first comment under the video is from a guy who says "well, this was my uncle's band". Fantastic, say hi to him for us then...

I'll be waiting for you at the bar...hoping that one day it really opens...

Bye...
