And here I am reviewing the last album I listened to in this rainy summer... we're talking about a newly released album by the most famous band in the Deathcore genre: Suicide Silence.

I'll start by saying that I am not an expert in the genre and that I listen to few bands, but Suicide Silence has always impressed me positively, and I have never disliked their past albums. However, after the premature death in 2012 of their leader and vocalist Mitch Lucker, who made the band famous thanks to his incredible screamer skills, the band's fans asked more than a few questions about the group's future. The question was: who will inherit the crown? - Who will inherit the crown? The answer is Eddie Hermida, leader of a great deathcore band like All Shall Perish. Did he succeed? OF COURSE YES!

"You Can't Stop Me" is a 100% Suicide Silence album, enriched by songs like the title track, written by Mitch before his death, some re-recordings from the group's first EP, and very interesting collaborations of the caliber of Corpsegrinder (Cannibal Corpse) and Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan), positioning itself as one of the band's best albums.

The album starts with the openers "M.A.L" and "Inherit the Crown" dedicated to Mitch and the future of Suicide Silence, then proceeds with the devastating single "Cease to Exist," the particular "Sacred Words," the brutal "Control" with Corpsegrinder, and the splendid "You Can't Stop Me" and my favorite "Monster Within." The second part of the album is a bit less inspired, but in my opinion, it holds up well thanks to gems like "Don't Die," "We Have All Had Enough," and "Ending Is the Beginning."

In general, it is a truly beautiful and interesting album, what strikes you is its variety, rare in a genre like this, thanks to Hermida's marvelous vocals, which shift from scream to growl in a moment, to melodic moments (Sacred Words) and the brilliant collaborations. I also noticed a certain maturation in the songwriting itself; there are more solos, and the group is leaving behind the monotony present in previous albums. What can I say... this album is a bolt from the blue and gives hope for this band, which despite a severe loss, has managed to bounce back in a more than unexpected way. Long live the new Suicide Silence!
