SOUNDSICK is an Alternative Rock Power Trio composed of two brothers, Ilario and Alexander Onibokun, and Valentino Teodori. Their influences range from post-rock to post-grunge, from progressive to psychedelia, trying to blend the simple with the complex, but without ever losing sight of the essence of form and melody. This is what the band writes to introduce themselves and their new album. A perfect synthesis to which, in writing this review (since it's one of the most interesting things I've listened to this month), I would first of all add one thing. They are three. Okay, power trio. And I would dare to say; more than a power trio (and powerful it truly is), they seem like a power rock orchestra. Just listen to the incredible intertwining of riffs, always breathtaking, overlapping with other guitar tracks and melodies that suggest psychedelia and punk. And then the furious outbursts, the stops, and the restarts... All wonderful. They define a sort of progressive post-grunge. Maybe the Nirvana, if they still existed, would have done this? Or maybe not... Whatever... Nevermind. Long live Soundsick!
