Eddie James "Son" House Jr. was an American Delta blues singer and guitarist, a seminal figure whose slide guitar and fervent vocal delivery influenced later bluesmen.

Born Eddie James "Son" House Jr.; central figure of Mississippi Delta blues; recorded for Paramount in 1930; recorded by Alan Lomax in 1941-42 (Library of Congress sessions); rediscovered and recorded during the 1960s folk revival (including 1965 sessions). Died in 1988.
