SOAK is the moniker of Bridie Monds- Watson, born in 1996 in Derry, Ireland.

She claims it is the union of the terms soul and folk, and Bridie knows a thing or two about folk.

But what does this album present?

The 14 tracks (11 + 3 short instrumental fillers) are clearly and inevitably the result of youth and that phase one goes through during the awareness of being in their twenties.

Sea Creatures indeed seems to allude to the glances and gossip of those who do not yet understand the existence of love between people of the same sex.

Specifically, these are modern folk songs, accompanied here and there by orchestral elements or studio effects and beats that do not confuse their naturalness.

Blud is, in my opinion, the most representative track of the album; a romantic ballad seasoned with choirs and infused with simplicity.

Before We Forgot How To Dream upon its release already places several accolades in the girl's hands, such as winning the annual Choice Music Award (an award given to the leading new Irish talents) and a nomination for the Mercury Prize Awards.

The even more stripped-down versions of some songs can be heard in the Spotify Singles released a few months later.
