There's an album at this time that just can't stop playing in my player.

An album that gives me everything I look for in a modern band. To be clear: I'm talking about that kind of "chart-topping" rock/metal (at least in America) that many dismiss... busy as they are trying to be nonconformist at all costs, but well... that's another story.

Let's get back to the album. If perfection doesn't exist, these Sixx: A.M manage to create something that comes close, never boring and constantly encouraging repeated listening.

There’s practically nothing missing. We have the catchy and edgy tracks ("This is Gonna Hurt" and "Life of The Beautiful People"); the potential hits ("Are You With Me", "Deadlihood" and "Help is on The Way"); intense tracks reminiscent of the best of Muse ("Live Forever" and "Goodbye My Friends") and truly successful slow pieces: the summery "Sure Feels Right", the romantic "Smile", and the touching "Skin".

The best track of the album, however, is "Oh my God": it starts as a U2-style ballad, you will surely have the same feeling as I do, and then develops into a chorus that is moving, engaging... supported by perfect drum fills and a guitar that fits everything together perfectly, simply splendid.

This is in a few lines the summary of the eleven tracks that make up the album, the second studio work by Sixx:AM: a Californian band formed by Motley Crue's bassist Nikki Sixx, Daren Jay Ashba, current guitarist of Guns 'N' Roses (?), and the excellent James Michael who takes care of the vocals and drums, as well as producing the album.

In the States, they are enjoying decent success. In Italy, I don't think they have much chance of making it big.

But they deserve... my God, if they deserve it!
