We are facing yet another economic speculation by a label (in this case Roadrunner, which has heavyweights like Machine Head, Opeth, Cradle Of Filth, Stone Sour, Slipknot, or Soulfly in its stable) capitalizing on the popularity of a great band like Sepultura, who along with Slayer have written the most aggressive history of trash metal.
The result is nothing mediocre and/or scandalous; in fact, the choice of songs is perfect, truly "the best of..." However, it's also sheer spite, since we are not very sure that Max Cavalera did not enter into this operation, as the chosen tracks stop at the album "Roots," which is the band's most famous and the last with Max on vocals. This is fundamentally unfair, even if the "new" Sepultura are no longer what they used to be (in fact, without Max, they lack any grit), the best episodes of the post-Max albums could and should have been included in the collection.
Nonetheless, aside from disagreements and wicked moves, it's always a pleasure to listen to metal milestones like "Troops Of Doom", "Roots Bloody Roots", or "Arise", and the collection is fundamentally good for those who want to get to know this band. In the meantime, "best of" albums for Fear Factory, Ill Nino, and Type O' Negative are also expected to be released on the market, always by Roadrunner, which is currently hungry for money!
