THE REVIEW

The turning point of Death Metal occurred in 1991, on the day when the fifth CD of Sepultura appeared on music store shelves worldwide: 'ARISE'.

A masterpiece from start to finish, composed of 9 harsh and unforgiving songs, whose choruses have become anthems for all Sepultura fans. It starts with the Title-Track ""Arise", which is already a hefty blow, and continues with ""Dead Embryonic Cells" and ""Desperate Cry". Three Sepultura classics that, in my opinion, defined them until Max Cavalera left. "Murder", "Subtraction", "Altered State", "Under Siege (Regnum Irae)" only make this album more of a fierce and killer-sounding classic. The final duo consists of "Meaningless Movements" and "Infected Voice".

An album that is therefore indispensable for anyone who listens to Metal, and especially Death and Thrash. Many have said that the sound of this CD was identical in all 9 songs; that may also be true, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a fantastic album.

Very likely, this album boasts the best production ever executed on a metal work.

An absolute piece of Death history, played as it should be with excellent themes and production.

"This CD is the best Sepultura album, this album is the beginning of black metal, a genre invented by us."

Indeed, this CD is the pure black metal that was transported to Norway to reach the hands of Burzum.
