Sea Level was an American band formed by keyboardist Chuck Leavell as a side project of the Allman Brothers Band; their self-titled debut was released in 1977.

Members on the debut included Chuck Leavell (keyboards), Jimmy Nalls (guitar), Lamar Williams (bass) and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums). The group's music blends Southern rock traditions with jazz, funk and R&B influences.

A positive DeBaser review celebrates Sea Level's 1977 debut as an original alternative within Southern Rock. The review highlights Chuck Leavell's piano-led approach and the band's fusion of jazz, funk, R&B and Caribbean/Latin influences. Standout tracks noted include "Rain In Spain", "Tidal Wave" and "Nothing Matters But The Fever". The album is awarded five stars for its historical significance and originality.

For:Fans of Southern rock, jazz fusion, piano-led ensembles and listeners interested in 1970s roots-rock experimentation.

Among the few, notable exceptions certainly fall the great Sea Level by keyboardist Chuck Leavell, born as a side project carried on by some instrumentalists from the Allman Bros. Band, but later established as an autonomous group with its own history and characteristics.
