The downtempo deathcore duo from Puglia, composed of brothers Giovanni (vocals) and Simone Pietroforte (guitar), has brought forth a monolith that transcends the concept of sonic nihilism, something so violent that it places this EP between music and mere noise, sometimes leaning towards one, sometimes the other.

5 tracks of visceral, pure, and uncontaminated hatred, where Bound in Fear, Primitive Man, and Black Tongue seem like the main inspirations.

The business card "Disillusionment" starts with the speech of Elliot Rodgers (perpetrator of the Santa Barbara shooting) and then explodes into abyssal breakdowns that perfectly marry with Giovanni’s extremely exasperated and inhuman vocals, which at some points of the record are neither growl nor scream, but are literally yelled, at the limit of human vocal cord tolerance.

The subsequent "Pitch Black" and "(050395)" are a descent into the darkest and most misanthropic emotions that man can feel, sharing morbidly sulfuric and disturbing atmospheres, only to find oneself completely enveloped in darkness and pure misanthropy with "Ubermensch," the heaviest and most suffocating track of the lot, where the lowest point a man can reach, completely corrupted by the evil he himself created, is achieved. Here, Antonio Romito of Intercranial Purulency unleashes growls so deep that, combined with the extremely low guitars, create one of the most violent cacophonies your hearing can experience, all concluded with the total despair of the final track "Descend into Pure Nothingness," where heartrending melodies complete the piece’s sensation of pure despair, magnificently finished by a violin/ambient part that reaches total tragedy at the end.

While waiting for the full-length, we can enjoy this small gem of sonic violence made in Italy, a true must for downtempo lovers who, in the sea of copycat bands of this genre, manage to stand out with their own identity. So, if you have time and are in the mood, give it a listen!
