"A unique, monolithic, and raw sound... much more sincerity, much more immediacy and rock ‘n roll."

Orange Sunshine's 'Homo Erectus' is a raw, aggressive blast of 60s-inspired garage and psychedelic rock. Embracing fuzz and vintage recording techniques, the album channels proto-hard rock legends like MC5 and Blue Cheer with sincerity and immediacy. Though lacking originality and variety, it delivers a powerful and monolithic rock experience filled with passion and authenticity.  Hypnotized by that bass that doesn’t stop spinning on itself, I slightly move my head back and forth following evil beats that seem to tell you the same thing over and over with different words.

I watch the ice drowning in the glass. I wonder why it doesn’t stay still and why these invisible flies that buzz poisons won’t stop.

Equations Of Eternity's self-titled 1996 album delivers a hypnotic dub experience far from typical reggae vibes. The reviewer describes an intense, immersive journey dominated by bass and electronic beats that create a dark, mesmerizing atmosphere. The album combines the talents of Bill Laswell, Mick Harris, and Eraldo Bernocchi in crafting layered sonic textures. The mood is introspective and slightly unsettling, evoking both trance and discomfort. Dive into the hypnotic depths of Equations Of Eternity's dub fusion — listen now and feel the immersive bass-driven journey.

The slow pace is enviable compared to Van Sant’s Elephant, with the substantial difference that that remains a great film, while this Franklyn is banal and devoid of any moment of interest.

A film, therefore, with a slow pace, with a story carried forward in a useless and boring way.

Franklyn is Gerald McMorrow's 2008 film that mixes contemporary London with a futuristic city called Meanwhile City. The story attempts to weave four characters' intertwining fates but unfolds sluggishly and without emotional engagement. Despite a visually refined and moody cinematography, the film fails to deliver excitement, resulting in a confusing and banal experience. The acting is unremarkable, and the climax lacks tension, causing overall disappointment. Discover if Franklyn's dark sci-fi world is for you—read the full review or watch it yourself!

The dark and retro atmosphere of the black and white video accompanies an amiably melancholic track that echoes the style of Portishead in a slightly more pop version.

If the genre is to your liking, I invite you to listen to her and I believe you will not be disappointed.

Ayoe Angelica's album 'I'm Amazed' offers a refreshing mix of trip-hop, jazz, and soul fused with electronic elements.  Es Reiten die Toten So Schnell is a cryptic, gothic, evocative record, characterized by a dead, cadaverous voice in some cases.

If you are not addicted to the various Job for a Cowboy, Despised Icon, Animosity... you'd only be wasting half an hour uselessly.

The main flaw of the album is the repetitiveness of the tracks: the structures are always the same, predictable and eventually trivial and boring.

Carnifex's debut album 'Dead in My Arms' is criticized for its repetitive and predictable deathcore sound. The music lacks originality, with similar riffs across the tracks and uninspired vocals. Only the opener 'Slit Wrist Savior' stands out slightly. The review suggests that deathcore may be a fleeting and uninspired trend. Discover why Carnifex's 'Dead in My Arms' struggles to stand out in deathcore—read the full review and decide for yourself!

"It's a record that speaks in a whisper, that seems to shout things you already know but, by whispering, it also reveals feelings and emotions not usually evoked by an everyday song."

George Thorogood, paraphrasing his last name, is a little bull of rock blues.

"The splendid title track immediately positions itself as one of the best Extreme Metal songs ever composed in the land of Odin."

"Into Eternity is a release with some blinding highlights and many, many shadows."

Desultory's 1993 debut album 'Into Eternity' is a technically impressive but uneven release in the Swedish Death Metal genre. The album features standout, extreme metal tracks with thrash influences, especially the title track and 'The Chill Within.' However, many songs suffer from repetition and lack originality. While historically significant, the album received mixed reviews and was followed by less impactful releases. Dive into Desultory's 'Into Eternity' and discover a cornerstone of Swedish Death Metal with a mix of brilliance and flaws.

The result is a small, cohesive gem, which quietly starts off modestly and, surprisingly, reveals some raw and hidden pearls.

It’s a small work that smells of wood, of small handcrafted work - almost without regard for the audience that is listening.

This review highlights Paul McCartney's debut solo album as a raw, intimate and handcrafted work reflecting his feelings of loneliness and loss after The Beatles broke up. Recorded at home with minimal equipment, it contrasts sharply with his prior refined works, revealing vulnerable and soulful moments. Key tracks like 'Maybe I'm Amazed' stand out as gems. The album's personal nature offers insight into McCartney's emotional state and artistic freedom. Listen to Paul McCartney’s heartfelt debut solo album and experience its raw, intimate beauty today.

"If anyone had doubts about the actual originality of the Italian progressive scene... with the Stormy Six we can safely talk about pure creativity."

The album is really well played, although the mixing, while not prohibiting listenability, does not seem perfect.

Macchina Maccheronica captures Stormy Six during a crucial transition, combining folk influences with emerging electronic sounds. The album features symbolic yet evocative lyrics penned by Umberto Fiori. While some tracks serve as stylistic experiments, the overall quality and creativity stand strong. Praised by critics, it remains a distinctive work in Italian progressive rock, preceding the band's fully electronic shift in Al Volo. Dive into the rich, inventive sounds of Stormy Six's Macchina Maccheronica and experience a unique chapter in progressive rock history.

If Graceland was inspired by African sounds, this time Simon moved to South America and Brazil, recording much of the songs with local musicians.

The opening track, 'The Obvious Child', with its percussion played by Grupo Cultural OLODUM, provides the right charge and opening for the album.

The review reflects on Paul Simon's 1990 album The Rhythm of the Saints as a worthy successor to his Grammy-winning Graceland. It highlights the successful incorporation of Brazilian and South American musical influences, notable collaborations, and rich arrangements. Despite not reaching Graceland’s peak, the album is celebrated as a significant world music achievement. The review also contrasts this with Simon's later, less successful work. Discover the rich sounds of Paul Simon's The Rhythm of the Saints—listen now and experience world music at its finest!

"Ritual is, all things considered, a gray CD, intriguing, reflective and bitter: just like the beautiful end of summer."

"Matos showcases his voice under a massive spotlight. An impressive vocal control, which raises the hairs on my arms every time I listen to it."

Shaman's 2002 debut album Ritual offers a thoughtful and intricate metal experience. The reviewer highlights vocal performance and memorable tracks while connecting the music to themes of endings and nostalgia. Discover the emotional depth and intricate music of Shaman's Ritual—listen now and experience a unique metal journey.

"Jazz is not phrasing; it is not chords. If it were chords, Tom Jobim would not have made bossa nova; he would have made jazz."

"The Sambrasa trio plays música brasileira, which to me seems very jazz."

From my point of view, it is the most complete album.

"Fundamental" is a 4.5 album as some passages are perhaps too forced, but I gladly give it a full 5 for the combination of styles and the courage to propose a musical blend hardly categorizable in less than 7 words.

Puya’s 1999 album Fundamental is praised for its original fusion of hardcore-heavy metal with Latin rhythms like salsa and merengue. The band creatively incorporates Spanglish lyrics and distinctive brass instruments, producing catchy and danceable tracks alongside heavier compositions. Though some passages feel forced, the album’s bold genre blending earns it a high rating. Ideal for listeners who appreciate musical diversity and innovation. Listen to Puya’s Fundamental for an exciting blend of Latin rhythms and hardcore metal innovation!

"This is, in itself, an album worth 3, maximum 3.5, but it deserves four stars for the idea, the courage, and the diversity."

"Listen to this album, don’t expect the usual Weather Report, this is something else, other music."

Mr. Gone, a controversial album by Weather Report, departs from their past classics with complex, overly produced arrangements. Joe Zawinul dominates the project, sometimes overshadowing other talents like Wayne Shorter and Jaco Pastorius. Despite initial criticism and less commercial success, the album is praised for its boldness, creativity, and unique place in jazz fusion history. It challenges expectations and remains an important and daring work. Explore Weather Report’s daring Mr. Gone and experience a groundbreaking jazz fusion journey unlike any other.
