LA RECENSIONE

This record is insanely sexy. Period.

The third work from yet another Greg Cartwright formation (ex Oblivians, Compulsive Gamblers, Greg Oblivian and The Tip Tops, and God knows what else) certainly doesn't shine for originality, but it plays like no other garage band today can: sweaty and sexy. As always, there's an unmistakable sixties taste for melodies ("You're love is a fine thing") and an avalanche of covers, even from different sources (like the driving "You Got Me Hummin'" by Sam and Dave), but the groove, rhythm, and energy have become a trademark of Oblivain/Reigning Sound productions, hard to avoid.
The record is completed by a romantic and probably sincere blues ("Funny Thing") and a couple of really spot-on ballads (like "Drowning").
The sounds are never too saturated even if the whole album is pushed to the max ("Medication","I'll cry")... put it on your turntable and this record will do what rock 'n' roll was born to do: make the girls dance and go crazy!

P.S. "When You Touch Me" is incredible. Greg has nailed it, learn from him, please.
