Reigning Sound were an American garage rock band formed in Memphis in 2001 by Greg Cartwright (a.k.a. Greg Oblivian), blending rock ’n’ roll grit with soulful melodies; they disbanded in 2022.

Led by Greg Cartwright (Oblivians, Compulsive Gamblers). Frequently organ-driven, with sixties pop and soul/R&B influences. Played on Mary Weiss’s album Dangerous Game. Dave Amels contributed organ. Reviewed works include Too Much Guitar, Love and Curses, and Abdication... For Your Love.
