Returning from a heavy day... you tell yourself: now I need a nice hot shower!!! You enter the bathroom, turn on the water, the steam rises as it's so hot... you remember you bought a new CD, the latest by the Red Sparowes, and what better moment to listen to a CD for the first time? You take the radio and bring it into the bathroom; insert the disc and press play... the tub fills up, and since you really want to relax, you decide to go all out and fill it to the brim... you undress and enter... the notes of the CD accompany you in the ritual of shivers and pleasure mixed with suffering that one feels upon entry (the water is very hot but delightful...).
Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh.... bliss!!! You free yourself... you relax... you bless whoever invented hot water... the mind calms and almost forgets the various problems of life!! You are in paradise!!!! Blessed and consoled... meanwhile, the music fills the air and makes its way through the steam... it reaches your ears and it's the apotheosis!! (a mix of post-rock and '70s psychedelia like hasn't been heard in a long time).
At that precise moment you close your eyes, inside the tub, and dream, awake and conscious, but you dream... the music floats, sweet and expansive, reminiscent of the latest Isis and the ever more expansive God Speed You Black Emperor, it crosses your soul, as only bands like Mogwai and Sigur Ros can do so well, and in a mix of post-bliss rarefaction you tell yourself you've never had a better moment in your life than this!! The music flows and you remain still... petrified!!! You could remain in that state for hours but all good things, as we know, end soon!!
The Red Sparowes are a group composed of members from Isis and Neurosis, not novices but rather masters of rarefaction and expansion transposed into music... Echoes of Pink Floyd are heard here and there, psychedelic expanses of sensory expansion, creating music that, while anchored to the genre's style, simultaneously distances itself from it. Not a word spoken, not a song... just a continuous flow of notes... indescribable emotional ups and downs, epic and melancholic...
Once again these air lords make us dream, as they did with their wonderful first work... Don't hold back and enter the sweet lands they created!!
Nothing but poetry in music!!
