After Murcof, here is another album in my hands that is nothing short of enchanting, dated 2001 but still current and "ahead" in its conception: a mix of classical compositions, hypnotic almost loop-like rhythms, electronic contaminations and more.

Susumu Yokota has been delighting us for over ten years with works that range from avant-garde to more commercial music (a term, in this case, to be used with due caution), and never as in this work is the balance maintained and well-proportioned. A pleasant album influenced by a thousand currents and genres ranging from Morricone to Cocteau Twins passing through Sakamoto and the like. A challenging yet absolutely enjoyable work, made of quotations and provocations, where classic and exotic avant-garde of a technological nature merges with the culture of extreme sampling, recalling the masters Philip Glass and Steve Reich.

With this work (and with the latest "Symbol" of this year, said to be a real masterpiece) the grand master of ceremonies Yokota has signed a masterpiece of great class, lightness, and extreme elegance that captivates us listen after listen, transporting us on tiptoe into hypnotic and oriental lands. For refined palates and keen ears.
