Susumu Yokota was a Japanese electronic musician and producer renowned for luminous ambient works and adventurous sampling. Active from the 1990s until 2015, he released numerous albums on labels including The Leaf Label and Lo Recordings, spanning ambient, house, techno, and experimental sound.

Collaborated with Rothko on Distant Sounds of Summer; incorporated classical fragments on Symbol; featured voices such as Meredith Monk and Caroline Ross; passed away in March 2015 at age 54.
