Rats are an Italian rock band from Spilamberto (province of Modena). Formed in the early 1980s, they debuted with a post-punk/new wave record (C'est Disco, 1981) and later released melodic Italian rock albums including Indiani padani (1992). Key members mentioned in reviews include Ulderico 'Wilko' Zanni (voice/guitar), Romano Romi Ferretti (bass) and Lorenzo 'Lor' Lunati (drums). They have a cult following, periodic reunions (2008) and a 2013 release on an independent label.

Debut album C'est Disco (1981) documented the Bolognese post-punk/new wave scene and featured Claudia Lloyd on vocals; the lineup on later records included Wilko, Lor and Romi. Indiani padani (1992) reached roughly 50,000 copies per contemporary accounts in the reviews and contains the single "Chiara"; Luciano Ligabue contributed writing and sings some verses on material associated with this period. La Vertigine Del Mondo (1995) was for years their last album before a 2008 reunion; a 2013 album titled "Siete in attesa di essere collegati con l'inferno desiderato" was released on Bagana records according to the reviews. Several early records were noted as out of catalog and sought after by collectors.

Italian band from Spilamberto/Modena, active since the early 1980s. Started as post-punk/new wave (C'est Disco, 1981) and moved to melodic Italian rock in the early 1990s (Indiani padani). Cult status with dedicated fans and occasional reunions.

For:Fans of Italian post-punk, new wave and 1990s melodic rock; collectors of rare vinyl and cult Italian bands.

It’s a great album of melodic Italian rock, full of direct guitarism and the offspring of a certain punk rock, sadly never reissued, out of catalog for years, like the entire historical production of the group.
