Finally, Rammstein decided to tread on Italian soil. For me, having followed them since "Sehnsucht", more precisely from the first time I saw them at the MTV Grammy Awards in 1998 with "Du Hast", and having appreciated their subsequent works, this was an unmissable opportunity to gauge the live prowess of the German combo.

The premises were all there: it is known that Rammstein has always offered a real impact show where lights, smoke, and fire abound alongside muscular and effective performances. Anyone who has seen the much-celebrated "Live Aus Berlin" DVD knows what I mean.
Due to intense traffic on the west bypass of Milan, I missed the performance of Apocalyptica, a quartet offering an "Orchestral Metal with Cellos" that is as original as it is heavily digestible.

The Forum appeared well-nourished, not completely full, but certainly three-quarters full. The lights go out, the music starts, and the curtain that covered the stage falls: the first glance is surprising, a stage like I've never seen before, divided into 2 levels in a Blade Runner style... the look of the 6 is very dark and the acoustics of the place impeccable as always.
The title track of the latest album begins the concert, and it is immediately clear that one will witness a show with many resources.
Indeed, from the subsequent Links...2,3,4, the show starts with fireworks, flames, confetti, and light displays all perfectly synchronized in the breaks and restarts within the individual songs.
At times, it seems that the spectacle is a bit excessive, but the atmosphere was precisely that of a party, and the audience itself responded greatly with continuous cheers. A performance curated in every detail, each element knew where to stand because I assure you, in front of such a display, one wonders how they don't get burned, given the constant use of flamethrowers and fire coming from everywhere. A stunning sight.

And then?.....then there's the basic element: THE MUSIC!!!
If the show is curated, the live performance is almost perfect!

Their latest effort is prioritized, as "Reise/Reise" is practically presented in its entirety, except for a couple of tracks in the first part of the concert. The encores are all for the classics, and here are Du Hast (greeted with a roar by those present), Sonne, Ich Will, Rammstein, and the beautiful and emotional Depeche Mode cover of Stripped, curiously closing a unique concert in its kind, which managed to impress me both for its spectacularity and musical quality.
Where there was also excess in Mein Teil (the skit between Till "cook" Lindemann wanting to "roast" Flake), there are contrasting moments rich in pathos and atmosphere, like in the duet with Apocalyptica in Ohne Dich where being moved and dreaming was almost obligatory.

Everyone enormously satisfied, from the audience to the band itself, which on several occasions did not hold back in thanking us and concluded with a "we love you".
Great show and great music, maybe the summer atmosphere with an outdoor performance would have been the top, but it's great even like this!
