1994. After a year off, beautifully spent with the Pooh Book of 1993, the Pooh return in style with one of their most underrated albums, and paradoxically for this reason, more valuable: "Musicadentro". The legendary Italian band delivers a rich, warm work full of sounds and "easy" melodies, but only on the surface. And then the big news: the album is entirely arranged by the group itself, particularly by Maestro Dodi Battaglia, who here proves to be in top form. It opens with "Le canzoni di domani", which was supposed to be titled "Una canzone sbagliata". The brave Valerio Negrini did well to change the title as the song turned out well and will mark the Italian musical scene of that year (memorable was the performance at Telethon). The introduction is a tribute to Boston's "More than a feeling", and the song demonstrates how with three or four chords at most, a pleasant product can be created. Dodi's final solo forcefully enters his repertoire alongside other pearls he has given us in previous years: "Parsifal", "Classe '58", "La mia donna", just to name a few examples. The video for the opening track is beautiful, with the four magical voices gradually entering the song: Red starts, then Dodi enters, and finally Roby and Stefano. The final frame shows the Pooh exiting a circumference where their images appear stylized, and this image is also the album cover, a record indeed made of colors (like "Il colore dei pensieri"), and these colors are named "Vorrei", "A cent'anni non si sbaglia più", "Un leone in paradiso", dedicated to Dodi Battaglia's father, "E non serve che sia Natale", outlining this time a greater heterogeneity. A special mention goes to the beautiful "Senza musica e senza parole", among those songs that deserve to be sung at concerts. But as we know, when an Artist or a group of Artists almost always manages to create beautiful things, something has to be cut from concerts. The result is a two-star, underwhelming and transitional album. An absolute must-have for Pooh lovers, advisable for purchase by everyone else. W I POOH, CON LA MUSICA DENTRO!
