1966-1996! The Pooh celebrate 30 years of activity and do so with a masterpiece album where the union among the four is absolutely the protagonist! The immortal title track, with one of Dodi's most successful solos, "La donna del mio amico," which defends friendship once again, "Innamorati sempre, innamorati mai," or "Una donna per amico" 18 years later, are the strongest points of an album that's never boring or filler. Then there's the sentimental pearl: "Cercando di te," the most beautiful of the "Canzian songs," even more than "Stare senza di te," a masterpiece representing one of the highest peaks of Italian mainstream in the '90s, a peak that only the Pooh could aspire to. The song "Innamorati sempre, innamorati mai" initially had different lyrics, written by Stefano in honor of his late father, while "Il silenzio della colomba" caused a great misunderstanding that could have led to Dodi's departure. But the confusion was resolved because the friendship among the four on one side is stronger, but on the other, their own history is more important than individuals, as Red Canzian would state years later regarding Stefano D'Orazio's defection. Yet again, the religious call of "C'è bisogno di un piccolo aiuto" where once more the harmony of the four is surprising. The other tracks are less polished but not undeserving of note: "Fammi fermare il tempo," "Diritto d'amare," the intriguing "Danza a distanza," and "Le donne mi hanno detto" complete a 3 and a half star work. The story of the Pooh is not just a story of music but a story of friendship. "Will be the herd that comes to save you, if you get lost..." as recites the inside of the cover, just like the cover filled with zebras. DODI RED ROBY STEFANO: THE BEST! As will be called the album of the following year.
