THE REVIEW

Lately, the fruits of Italian music are born already rotten, and the vast majority of them aren't even worth considering. However, this doesn't mean nothing good is produced in "our homeland"; on the contrary, in the recent years, we have witnessed a slight improvement, but the road is still very long.

The Planet is an all-Italian formation born from the union between Alex Neri (former Kamasutra with Marco Baroni) and the group of producers from Naples, Souled Out!.
Once the band's album is inserted into the player, it travels on its own... A clever move to sing in English to try to break into the markets beyond the Alps; also because inside, all the ingredients to become popular outside national borders are present: pop spices that mix with dance-floor atmospheres, trip-hop with a debt of melancholy and, above all, a sound care well above the national average.

The album generates deep atmospheres and a travel-friendly climate capable of uplifting you with its charming music, putting you in a good mood, and transporting you on a pleasant journey.
A valid project. All five singles are truly overwhelming, they sound divine together with the other songs, all worthy of being listened to – and re-listened to – without much prejudice.

Oh, let's be clear... it's not a pearl of music but certainly a rather pleasant, curious, and noteworthy work.

Planet Funk's Non Zero Sumness stands out in an often disappointing Italian music landscape. The album skillfully mixes pop, dance, and trip-hop, featuring polished production and an international flavor. With deep, uplifting atmospheres, it offers a pleasant, repeating listen. It is not groundbreaking but remains a noteworthy and enjoyable effort.

Planet Funk are the most stomach-churning pineapple pizza ever tasted.

This is truly bad music, but not that guilty pleasure kind of bad: it’s genuinely bad, authentic, whole, with no prospect of improvement.
