THE REVIEW

Wandering among reviews of Pink Floyd albums, a band I love, I couldn't find any on "More"; and although it is not, obviously, my favorite Floydian album, I thought it deserved one.

"More" is the first Pink Floyd album without the legendary Syd Barrett among the group's lineup (yes, because even in "A Saucerful of Secrets" he makes his, albeit small, appearances.

This was recorded for the soundtrack of the movie "More" renamed in Italian "Di più, ancora di più" and it features very appreciable tracks, such as the one that opens the album "Cirrus Minor," the elegant "Cymbaline," and especially the sweet "Green is the Colour," which for me represents one of my favorite songs by the London group, (almost) like hits such as "Time" and "Wish You Were Here."

In conclusion, I believe that, although it is obviously not a massive work like "The Wall," "Dark Side of the Moon," or even the beautiful "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn," it is a record that deserves to be listened to and evaluated, also for its great variety of musical genres that showcase the versatility of the great band.

Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd formed in London in 1965 and became a defining force in psychedelic and progressive rock. The classic lineage spans Syd Barrett’s founding vision, Roger Waters’ conceptual leadership, Richard Wright’s harmonic textures, Nick Mason’s pulse, and David Gilmour’s arrival in 1968, shaping their signature sound.

The predominant color is green, luminous, streaked with blue, as I stroll through the forest.

Perhaps now I feel a bit richer than before...

The bird song that opens 'Cirrus Minor' evokes the love binding those two protagonists at sunrise.

'Quicksilver' is definitely to be listened to at night.
