I haven't written in a long time, but this album made me want to talk about it on DeBaser.

Released on October 2nd, "The Connection" is the seventh album by the Californians Papa Roach, which, with a duration of 44 minutes, has become part of my list of the best albums of 2012.

After a hazy intro called "Engage", the track that has been most shared and listened to on the web since before the album's release starts, I'm talking about "Still Swinging". With stunning lyrics and instrumental parts, it combines various musical styles from metal to rock and dubstep, becoming a truly well-made nu-metal track.

Right after this fast start comes the song "Where Did The Angels Go?" which, adding the usual nu metal of Papa Roach with a "homemade" djent style, makes everything more varied.

Without going through a "track by track" that could become tedious, I would like to talk about only two other songs that I consider noteworthy. The first is "Give me back my life", which with riffs usually used in industrial metal and with a vocal stamp different from the other songs, will stick in your mind from the first listen; the second noteworthy track is "Not that beautiful", which is an alternative metal track in every respect, with Jacoby Shaddix's voice and Tobin's bass riffs making it truly stunning.

The album's tracklist is as follows:

Engage - 0:51
Still Swingin' - 3:16
Where Did The Angels Go? - 3:10
Silence Is The Enemy - 2:53
Before I Die - 4:25
Wish You Never Met Me - 4:05
Give Me Back My Life - 3:58
Breath You In - 3:07
Leader of the Broken Hearts - 4:12
Not That Beautiful - 3:18
Walking Dead - 3:18
Won't Let Up - 4:00
As Far as I Remember - 3:42

This album being a mix of many genres from rock to electronics is, in my opinion, absolutely directed at a very varied audience. In short, an album to buy or at least to listen to if you love the band or if you want to listen to metal quite accessible to everyone!
