It's A Beautiful Day - Choice Quality Stuff / Anytime (1971) [Complete LP] This is the third album by "It's a Beautiful Day." Here, they present themselves with a different lineup compared to the previous ones; listeners can appreciate the remarkable contributions of "Santana" members such as Jose Chepitó Areas and Coke Escovedo (on percussion), Gregg Rolie (on keyboards), as well as Bill Atwood (on trumpet), who had already made a name for himself with his collaborations with the "Grateful Dead." The album also includes solos by Bruce Steinberg on harmonica, who was better known for his album covers than for his musical abilities. The surprise was that this lineup proved to be interesting on stage, in tracks like "Words" or "Bitter Wine." However, fans of the progressive rock sounds from their first album would be taken aback by tracks such as "Creed of Love" and "Bye Bye Baby," which have a pronounced rock & roll-blues feel—much closer to British bluesmen like John Mayall and Jeff Beck than to any previous work by It's a Beautiful Day. #storie
