Nothing 'a short history of decay' (Full Album Stream) New album for "Nothing", the fifth work by the Philadelphia band, an album of a beauty inversely proportional to the obscenity of the cover (not my words, but I totally agree).
Domenic "Nicky" Palermo was the founding member of the hardcore punk group "Horror Show", with whom he released two albums. They suspended their activity in 2002 when "Nicky", at twenty years old, stabbed a man during a brawl between two rival gangs and spent the next two years in prison for aggravated assault and attempted murder. "Nicky" claimed he was defending himself, and of that time in his life, "Nicky" confessed: "It was a pretty violent period, we'd go to concerts and, like, cause trouble the whole time."
He started playing again with "Nothing" several years after "Nicky" got out of prison. Their style can well be defined as a mix of Dream pop, Heavy metal, Nu-gaze, Post-grunge, Post-hardcore, Post-rock, Shoegaze, Slowcore, where the influences (by their own admission) of "Cocteau Twins", "Cure", "My Bloody Valentine", "Metallica", "Morrissey", "Nirvana", "Oasis", "Smashing Pumpkins", "Smiths", "Stone Roses", and of course several others, can be felt.
The current members of the band, in addition to the aforementioned Domenic "Nicky" Palermo on vocals and guitar, are:
Bobb Bruno on bass
Cam Smith on guitar and backing vocals
Doyle Martin on guitar and backing vocals
Zachary Jones on drums
