Francisco Sánchez Gómez, known as Paco De Lucia, began playing the guitar at the age of 5, and at 9 he left school because his family did not have enough money to send him, so he devoted himself exclusively to studying flamenco guitar. He would go on to become one of the greatest and most influential virtuosos in the history of music and classical guitar.
On February 25, 2014, he experienced intense chest pain and died suddenly at the age of 66, while playing soccer with his son on a Mexican beach during a family vacation, struck by a massive heart attack.
