This is the second solo album by James Alan Hull, leader and founding member of "Lindisfarne," an English folk rock band.

It was recorded in the winter of '73, between December and January.

It contains 11 tracks (remastered for this occasion), and each one represents different creative moments of this songwriter, who was mainly a "poet of the people" and dedicated his realistic lyrics to the misunderstood and the dispossessed, clearly setting himself apart from and distinguishing himself within the prevailing glamour of the musical scene of the time, also thanks to his political activism.

For a period, Alan Hull worked as a nurse in a clinic for the mentally ill and people with alcoholism problems.

He suddenly passed away in '95 at the age of fifty, due to thrombosis, while he was working on the recording of a new album. Two days later, his friends and colleagues held a commemorative concert at Newcastle Town Hall, donating the proceeds to charity.
