Here is a historical track, old, dating all the way back to 1977. It's probably not a song everyone knows, and over the years it has been covered by various artists, including Paul Weller, Beyoncé, Seal, etc.
The first version belonged to a funk-soul-disco group, "Rose Royce," and it was written by Billy Rae Calvin of "Undisputed Truth."
Curiously, "Wishing On A Star" didn’t achieve great success when it was released in '77, but time eventually set things right.
