what an incredible life you’ve had, dear Uncle Quincy! Moreover, for almost eighty years, one could say you have been IN SYMBIOSIS with music, traversing all possible genres of your RACE, from when at the age of one you played the trumpet in Lionel Hampton's Big Band to becoming the most sought-after Conductor and producer of the blockbusters of a 'black' vision of pop. And then... what a collection of records you’ve nonetheless put out under your name! It’s hard to choose even one to represent you ('Smackwater Jack' maybe, but then you rethink it and... start listening to at least five more of equal caliber, whether they be a mix of boudoir jazz and film music or invincible funky grooves...) PS: so much of that stuff that it would take a monograph... for now, thanks again for everything Soul Saga (Song Of The Buffalo Soldier)
