Mozart - Requiem
December 5, 1791… forget Elvis or Morrison … there are “officially” 118 theories regarding his death. The secrets and enigmas surrounding Wolfango will remain forever. And this is extraordinary and legendary just as it should be. He also has two graves; I would have exaggerated with at least ten.
Anyway, it’s the dead of night when there’s a knock at the door, and the boy goes to open it. There’s a man wearing a carnival mask, a cloak, a gloomy demeanor, and fifty resounding ducats. Amadeus is sick and has fallen into complete misery. The man asks for a requiem mass… in four weeks.
Does the man not exist? Is the requiem for himself as he’s about to die? The grim figure reappears at the deadline; Mozart asks for another month… it is granted… but he will die first.
The funeral is a misery, not even a coffin. Common grave.
Cursed and damned to the point of being forced by the Devil to compose his own requiem?!!
