When I found myself devoid of a voice and a country blues sound as torn and piercing as Jeffrey Lee Pierce's in '96, the only thing that brought me peace of mind was listening to this mad Christian raised on bread and the Bible. One who spent his childhood following his itinerant preacher grandfather. I saw him years later with Wovenhand, still at incredible heights, but here, in my opinion, he has reached the peak of his musical career: 16 Horsepower - Haw (Live on 2 Meter Sessions, 1996)
